Following your instructions, the organs of the procuracy of the Ukrainian SSR requested for review a large number of cases concerning complaints from relatives of those sentenced

to the ultimate punishment.
Most of these cases consist of a protocol of the interrogation, during which the arrested confesses to committing grave counterrevolutionary crimes or espionage, and a troika resolution to shoot [him].
Such cases are very difficult to review. However, I would like to inquire about other cases in which the materials and a careful review determine that the troika resolution was wrong and that a person was sentenced to be shot for no reason whatsoever. What should the procuracy do in such cases?
If we consider annulling the troika resolutions, what would be the consequences, considering the fact that we never tell the relatives about the death sentence? Obviously, we cannot declare the case closed when the troika resolution is deemed wrong.
Please give us guidance on how to deal with this situation, because we are making no headway with these cases, and they in fact find no resolution here.
