The file also contains the names of prisoners not sent to the NKVD in Smolensk or to Yukhnov camp. On 12 May 1940 the remaining six prisoners were sent to Yukhnov camp, thus completing the action of “clearing out” Kozelsk camp. (KDZ2/184, p. 295 n., erroneously gives the last death transport date as 20 May.) Yukhnov, also known as Pavlishchev Bor (name of a sanatorium), was a transitory camp; some prisoners sent there from the three camps were executed, but most were sent later to Griazovets camp and survived.
