There is a need to tirelessly pursue the struggle against the counterrevolutionary Trotskyist bandits, setting the task of crushing the Trotskyites in Lithuania as enemies of the workers and as agents of the security services. Make use of the materials of the trials of Zinoviev and the Trotskyist saboteurs in the Kuzbass, which have vividly demonstrated that the Trotskyites are agents of the Gestapo and are trying to bring about a restoration of capitalism. . . . Make use of the counterrevolutionary activity of the Trotskyites in Spain, etc. In Poland the security services are proposing to the [Jewish] Bund members that they speak out in defense of the Trotskyites. This is a fact, at a time when security services are openly taking up the defense of the Trotskyites. Work for a broader exposure of the connection between the Lithuanian Trotskyites and the security services and their counterrevol[utionary] work, their treacherous activity during the strikes. We are still not sufficiently vigilant. This is facilitating the Trotskyites’ penetration into the Communist Party of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Komsomol or at least to contact with our comrades and to conduct their counterrevol[utionary] work. Therefore liberalism toward the Trotskyites must never have a place in the ranks of our Party. Engage in a broader unmasking of the double-dealing devices of the Trotskyites, who are capable of various kinds of vile acts.” 6
