The German-Soviet Pact and the firm position of the USSR in East European affairs weakened German expansion in the Balkans and strengthened Soviet influence. Today, the Soviet Union is the sole pillar of support for the neutrality of Bulgaria. In striving for domination, the British and French imperialists are organizing an assault on the rulers of the Bulgarian people in an attempt to make them their vassals and, insofar as possible, to plunge them into the war with Germany. They are preparing to make Bulgaria a springboard against the Soviet Union. Our major objective today is the mobilization of the masses against the involvement of Bulgaria in the war on any side whatever; moreover, the major thrust must be against British and French imperialism. 35
